Bareilly – In a gesture to bring warmth and a sense of belonging to the residents of the Government Mentally Challenged Shelter Home, District Magistrate Ravindra Kumar visited the facility, ahead of Diwali. The shelter home, also serving as a training center under the Department of Disabled Welfare, received the District Magistrate’s attention as he spent time with the residents, distributing fruits, diyas, and candles as part of the Diwali festivities.
During his visit, the District Magistrate engaged with the residents, providing them with best wishes for the festival while also listening to their concerns. The visit highlighted the government’s commitment to ensuring the comfort and well-being of all individuals, especially those in need of special care.
Upon inspection, the District Magistrate observed that the washrooms and gallery areas of the shelter home required repairs. He immediately directed the preparation of an estimate to carry out necessary renovations by collaborating with an implementing agency at the earliest.
Additionally, to enhance the security of the shelter home, he instructed concerned officers to assign two additional home guards to the facility.
District Disabled People Empowerment Officer Chaman Lal, along with other staff members, accompanied the District Magistrate during the visit, reinforcing their commitment to the welfare of the shelter’s residents.
